At the ends of the bottom frame, we have added forged rusty steel stylised lilies that are associated with royalty, luxury and power. You can find them in many coats of arms around Europe, especially those coming from France and Spain.

Notes of great captains and discoverers
The vintage map of the world has a few interesting features. The one we like the most is probably the markings and notes from logbooks of the great captains and discoverers. You can find voyages of Abel Tasman, James Cook, George Vancouver and Christopher Columbus to mention a few. There are markings of many historical events like James Cook’s death date and place in Hawaii and the discovery of Tasmania - at the time called Van Diemen’s Land. The amount of information on this large vintage map is very generous, and if you are interested in a bit of history, it will be a great source of entertainment for you. Daniel Lizars from Edinburgh is the author of the map. He published the map at the beginning of the 1830s. If I could give more than 5 stars I totally would! We love the map! I suffer from pretty bad buyers remorse on just about everything I buy and never once have I felt like that with this map! Every time we walk by it and stop to look at the details we think how cool it is! The shipping was super fast I even got it before a few other things I ordered around the same time!
