The original title of the map is “A New Map of the WHOLE WORLD with the Trade winds According to ye latest and most Exact Observations”. Herman Moll is the author of the map. He was a cartographer from London. The annotations on the map are written in English. It is a relatively small map - it spans 60 cm x 50 cm (24" x 20") making it suitable for a smaller space on a wall. The map is very elaborative with beautiful illustrations below the hemispheres. You can find four figures representing the continents - the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa. In the middle, a woman receives a bunch of gifts from the people surrounding her. The author filled the map with intricate features that add to its overall appeal. He marked trade winds with hachures and wind directions with arrows. You can find a description of the map above the eastern hemisphere, and information about signs of the zodiac above the western hemisphere. The northern pole is in the little circle between the hemispheres.
